ACCESS: To reach the beach from Bournemouth Town Centre (by car), head west on the A338 (Wessex Way) and take the exit toward Westbourne/Poole. Follow signs for Westbourne and continue onto the B3065 (Bourne Valley Road). Once in Westbourne, take Alumhurst Road towards the coast and follow signs for Alum Chine Beach.

Alum Chine Beach Car Park is located next to the beach and is accessible via Almhurst Road. The beach is often popular (especially in peak season), so alternate parking options such as Durley Chine Car Park or West Overcliff Drive street parking are also worth considering.

Alum Chine Beach is highly accessible and ensures that everyone can enjoy the seaside. It offers accessible pathways down to the beach, accessible toilets and showers, and beach wheelchairs that allow visitors with mobility issues to see its gorgeous landscapes too.

FACILITIES: Beach huts at Alum Chine can be rented, offering a private space for families and groups to enjoy the beach. There’s a large, well-equipped playground close to the beach, making it a hit with families. There are several charming cafés and restaurants near Alum Chine Beach, with offerings ranging from traditional fish and chips, to refreshing ice cream, to a sit-down meal with a view. Picnic spots and designated barbecue areas also make it easier for visitors to bring their own food. RNLI Lifeguards are on duty during the peak season, and toilets and showers add to the beach's convenience. Alum Chine has designated dog-friendly zones for anyone wanting to enjoy the beach with their dog or walk along the promenade (although its worth checking local guidelines for specific dates).
