One of Dorset's most highly awarded touring and camping sites, South Lytchett Manor is a particularly good choice if you want excellent facilities while remaining within easy reach of Poole, Bournemouth and the Jurassic Coast. It is a good option for families who want considerably more than a basic campsite. Facilities include a leisure club with swimming pool, sauna and steam room, children's play areas, a soft-play area, SPAR shop, restaurant, dog-exercise meadow and nature trail. There are pitches for tents, campervans, motorhomes and touring caravans, alongside glamping and self-catering accommodation.

Guests staying in tents or campervans can use the heated swimming pools, entertainment and Wi-Fi as part of their stay, while the park also has bowling, food and drink facilities and organised activities. Eweleaze offers one of the more memorable camping experiences on the Dorset coast. Set on farmland at Osmington near Weymouth, the campsite has extensive sea views and guests have access to the farm's secluded beach.
Rather than formal numbered pitches, campers can choose where to set up within the camping fields, making it particularly popular with families and groups. Campfires are permitted and there is plenty of open space, giving Eweleaze more of a traditional, relaxed camping atmosphere than a large holiday park.
One important point to know before booking is that Eweleaze is tent-only.
Best for: Traditional camping, sea views, groups and a back-to-nature atmosphere

Hidden among woodland near Corfe Castle, Burnbake is a strong choice for visitors who want to feel surrounded by nature while remaining close to the attractions of Purbeck.
The site combines traditional camping with luxury forest lodges, so it also works well for groups where not everyone is enthusiastic about sleeping in a tent. There is an on-site shop and a seasonal Snack Shack serving food during parts of the camping season.
Its position near Corfe Castle makes it a convenient base for days out around Studland, Swanage and the wider Isle of Purbeck.
Best for: Woodland camping, couples, families and exploring Purbeck

The South West Coast Path runs past the entrance, while the climb to Golden Cap - the highest point on the south coast of England - begins virtually from the doorstep.
Camping is available alongside touring pitches, glamping, caravans, lodges and cottages. The park also has a small SPAR, children's play area, fishing lake and food options.

The campsite has around 80 pitches, including grass and hardstanding electric options, and welcomes tents, caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents. The combination of woodland, countryside and a location close to Corfe Castle makes it particularly appealing for visitors who want a peaceful base rather than a large entertainment-led holiday park.
