I thought I was simply visiting a museum. Instead, I found myself stepping through centuries of Dorset history.
Walking through the doors of Poole Museum & Scaplen's Court, tucked away in the heart of Poole's historic Old Town, felt like uncovering a secret that many visitors overlook. Within moments, I was exploring beautifully restored historic buildings, fascinating exhibitions and a peaceful walled garden that offered a welcome escape from the bustling waterfront just a few streets away.

One of the things I enjoyed most was how naturally the museum tells Poole's story.
