Just east of Mudeford Bay, sandy Avon Beach is a popular location for beach-goers, not least because of the idyllic views and its assortment of amenities available. It holds Blue Flag award status and is perfect for a day out.
RNLI Lifeguard Services?
From 8th July to 3rd September, you can expect to see lifeguards patrolling 10am to 6pm.
Dog Friendly?
Between 1st May and 30th September, dogs are not allowed on the beach, however they can still be walked along the promenade.
Marking the start of Christchurch Bay, Avon Beach is a designated bathing beach perfect for those looking to unwind. It caters to visitor needs with a vast array of facilities, making it a fun day out for any sightseer.
In the way of food and refreshments, Avon Beach's Noisy Lobster restaurant and Beach Hut Cafe are wonderful, welcoming places to grab a bite. The beach provides toilets and showers all along its stretch of coastline, including for the disabled, and its first aid station helps to keep visitors safe.
Fans of watersports will be pleased to know there's plenty of equipment for hire, as well as a designated watersports area in front of the car park. For those who simply want to relax, you can similarly find vibrant beach huts and deck chairs for hire as well.
Parking
Beside the beach is Avon Beach car park (99 spaces), open 9am to 9pm each day. Just a 5 minute walk away is Avon Run Road car park (222 spaces) for any additional parking.
